This Fastback has the original factory violet paint on it. Seat is great for its age with no rips or tears. The chrome does show some small surface corrosion. I have not been able to date the bike accurately. If all that did not get your attention.
The ten-speed's narrow wheels, drop handlebars, and hand brakes were designed for speed and distance. The bike only has a few scratches on the paint. This bicycle will need some amount of work. The chrome is very nice and the paint looks beautiful but does have scratches and necks for use over the years. Need work- front brake arm is bent, red pads. If it has even the slightest sentimental value, don't sell it. The end caps on the pedals are missing. The color is very hard to find on a men's bike. Grips will be oval with one tail coming off N without double back crossover late prewar style Rear chevron will be shorter on 46. And there is no wear on either tire. Been stored in bedroom for over 40 years! The handles have Schwinn on them. Speed and handling ease with Sting-Ray maneuver ability! The paint looks good, has average scuff's, scratches, some toning, decals are good shape. This Schwinn Stingray 5-speed Fastback is an early production, a serial number that indicates that it was constructed in February, 1966. Older, classic Stingrays do not have date codes.
