Makeup Revolution The Emily Edit: ‘The Needs’ Palette

Regardless, I think I was pretty lucky to have chosen quite a few shades that work together really well, and have similar undertones. Best of all this palette is cruelty free. Please do not feed the trolls. It is up to me to decide if I want to do a video or mention any of those products in my videos. Weakest shades for me were Pizazz as it really took some building - it's a shame as it's a really pretty shade.

All in all and despite having to build up some of these shades, I'm still finding I'm getting a lot of enjoyment from this palette because the colours are just so appealing! What has been your favourite collaboration from Revolution so far? Some people have found it on palettes they purchased in store while others have found mold on palettes they purchased online. The Wants Palette When Youtube sweetheart brought out a collaboration with it was in my shopping basket, before I had even finished watching the announcement video. An eyeshadow palette you'll want to use everyday! I think looking on Instagram and seeing so many creative looks made me feel like unless I put on a lot of makeup, it wasn't worth putting on at all. I really love the whole concept behind these palettes, as it is so true to the approach I take with my make-up. I like it because the colours are quite different, but also versatile. When I heard about this collaboration, I immediately had high expectations of Emily creating a palette that was well thought out and included everything you would need to complete an eye look, all in one place. It would also be a great choice, I think, for new-to-makeup beginners as well as the more seasoned applier.

I was impressed by this one as well. While it looks like there is a variety of color in the palette, it lacks depth. Perfect for the start of Fall right? This palette is very large, it has 24 matte, satin and shimmer shades. In her video, she also explains how best to apply the shimmers, by gliding the brush across the skin rather than packing it on which does seem to work better. It is almost the perfect palette and such a great compliment to my significantly paired down eye shadow collection. The shadows have minimal kickback in the pan and I experienced near zero fallout under my eye when applying.

The cost of this eyeshadow palette is £15 which is far more expensive then the usual. For a beginner or a busy mom, this works well. However, there is something that's coming up that's important to know before buying. This can be eyes, or full face. I heard about the mold issue after I had already posted my thoughts on it. I like that there are four mattes.

Good Vibes is a shimmery red copper Side Hustle is soooooooo pretty! Please ignore my very tired 5:30 am eyes - I love the purples in this palette. Pigment, Texture and Blendability The powders in the palette are beautifully pigmented but are buildable in nature. Family was another, although not to the extent as Pizazz - plus, it's pretty well known that purples are hard to formulate. Emily has remained relevant in the beauty community for over decade by remaining true to herself. I am in love with this big full size mirror. I used The Cream all over the lid as a base, Hobby through the crease as a transition shade, Corduroy to deepen the crease, Grateful all over the lid, and Side Hustle on the outer corner. As it was mostly neutral, I felt like I had similar products in my collection but part of me is still kicking myself for not picking up both.

The matte browns are similar enough to each other that they are pretty interchangeable, so we could have done with 1 of those instead of 4. I used The Cream all over the lid as a base shadow, and Midwest through the crease, with Dues Paid to deepen the crease. I also appreciated the inclusion of a dark brown Apartment and blackish color Dark and Early to help add depth to looks. You can apply just a little for a softer effect or you can really build them up for a stronger look. Just an every day girl woman.

I typically apply shimmers with my fingers, reflexively, but even that didn't help with the intensity of the shimmers. I have been using this daily for 2 weeks and have yet to scratch the surface on all the possible look combinations. It would be great for someone with light to medium skin that travels a lot. The Load Down The pans are the same size as a or eyeshadow and each pan contains 0. Let us know in the comments below! Emily created two palettes with Makeup Revolution, The Needs and The Wants. These shadows are buildable and to achieve what you see on my lid swatches below, you will have to build them up, but this allows for much greater control on the depth you want.

But I am 50, so when I was younger makeup was just makeup. I like her because she loves makeup! This is my favorite look of all 5 - it look a little more time to build up the shadows and layer them; but the results are so unique and pretty! Kindness can be used under the eye area, as a setting powder if your skin is fairly light , as a matte highlighter or as an eyeshadow. All Haul posts must include swatches. She is a sweetheart, through and through. I do recommend using a primer with these shadows. . Her warm personality brings a ray of sunshine that would even brighten a thunder storm! The mirror is gigantic and it's in pretty sturdy plastic.

It all depends what you're looking for in a shadow. I think that was why I never bought such big palettes because it didn't make sense to me why they can't come with a mirror the size of the palette. And the formula sounds fab, too! I can't compare this to any other Makeup Revolution shadow formulas, as this is the first palette I have tried. Your photos are so beautiful, and the swatches especially look really neat. Click through to read my thoughts, see swatches, and my warning before purchasing. No referral links, surveys, giveaways, or seeking to buy or sell! Crease Hobby, Prayer, Midwest and Dues Paid have been my go to crease shades. The Emily Edit is my first YouTuber product that I've purchased.

Have you tired Makeup Revolution? I used this palette for my most recent Palette of the Week, so I have 5 looks with The Wants palette: I used The Cream as a base over the whole lid, Midwest through the crease as the transition shade, Dues Paid to deepen the crease, Top Story all over the lid, Pi Phi patted on the outer corner and Oh Heavens! Most of these shadows apply to the eye beautifully and can be built-up for more colour if needed. These are the colors and tones that she loves. Racist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, etc remarks will not be tolerated and result in an immediate ban. The bronzer applied a bit patchy and was difficult to blend out. But with hundreds of thousands of palettes produced, I'm happy to say that this is has proven to be a very small-scale issue.
